What is Parent coaching?
Parent coaching is designed to help parents navigate the unique challenges of supporting their child. We understand there is no magic pill or roadmap to get parenting "right" but we do understand the struggles parents face in trying to find the best way to communicate with their children. Parent coaching is not therapy, it is directive, solution-oriented support that is designed to help parents understand and empower their kids. Learn to offer a hand-up rather than a hand-out. The ultimate goal being that the parents grow alongside their children. Parent coaching is done via phone or video conferencing. Typically parent coaching occurs 1 to 2 hours per week, but we can always schedule more if need be.

Our Parent Coaches
We match parents with clinicians who will support them in a process that is designed to meet their individual needs. Our parent coaches are trained in Mindfulness-Based DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Effective Communication Skills, Collaborative Boundary Setting, and the importance of parents learning to tolerate their own distress so that they can empower instead of enabling. Parent coaching can be offered as a stand-alone service or offered in tandem with our other programs (mentoring or companioning) to support the entire family system and ensure the family is growing together as a cohesive unit.

Why Parent Coaching?
We help parents learn practical tools for being able to have difficult conversations with their children, teach parents tools for managing their own anxiety, how to set effective boundaries and enforce them when children push back, and how to lovingly enable your child to be most successful in whatever areas they are pursuing.
